How can I serve God when the world mocks me for doing so?

Hello dear one,

I had been very quiet for a while  but I thought I'd drop a line or two about this topic. Occasionally we may find that in deciding to step out boldly in faith and following God through his son Jesus Christ, the world is quick to mock. They may call you foolish for believing in the unseen, they may laugh at you for refusing to participate in the things you used to do together, you may even find people "spitting" in your face because you chose to make God's work priority over you degree/career path. But DO NOT LET GO!

Remember James 4:4 in all your endeavours for it is written :Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (KJV)

Meditate on Matthew 5:11 which says: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (KJV)

Luke 6:22 even further encourages us with more words from the Lord: Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Above all things, remember that the goal for all children of God believers and non believers, SHOULD be to make heaven, although this generation often forget that we have a maker, a father, a comforter, a redeemer, a friend, who died to set us free.

As one who hopes to one day be called to spend eternity with the Maker himself in communion with the Angels; remember Matthew 6: 19-21 and let your actions, words, and thoughts be to the  glory of him alone:

Matthew 6:19-21
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

High Speed Vs. High Quality?

I posted this on my facebook page and decided it might be useful to some soul some day some where that God led to this blog so here it is:

Which would you think was more amazing? A healing or a resurrection? Now think of it this way... We may be crying unto God for a quick miracle and find no result yet; but remember he is seeking to touch your life at a time and in a way that gives him more glory... When the world laughs and mocks you for praying despite "unanswered prayers" stay Faithful and expectant... For instead of a quick and potentially inglorious patch up, HE WILL RESURRECT EVERYTHING THAT THE WORLD DEEMED DEAD IN YOUR LIFE IJN! Amen

Be blessed beloved soul of God,

What are you doing this December?

There's a lot of controversy surrounding Christmas; many believe it's the day Christ was born and many other believe it's the wrong day and wrong month and that it's a pagan festival and as such Christians shouldn't be celebrating it... Well which group do you belong to?

Whichever group you belong to, lets not forget the fundamental and key important part of being a Christian. It is to be Christ-like; meaning living a life like Christ. There is little point putting up a Christmas Tree if you are not Christ-like well that is if you believe it's a celebration of Christ's birth. If however you are an atheist and still give and take gifts this season then ask yourself this WHY??

There are others that despite being born Christians, renounced God and then when Christmas comes around they celebrate, they go to "Christmas Parties", these are parties that take place in a lot of settings especially workplaces and guess what- What is Christ-like about getting once-self in a drunken state and participating in utter debauchery and base behaviour???

There is no point standing half way. YOU ARE EITHER CHRISTIAN (Christ-like) or NOT... This mish-mash of in-betweener is not glorifying unto God or yourself for that matter...

I'm sorry to sound like I'm Judging I'm not... I myself see Christmas time as an over commercialized season for a day like every other where every Christian/every Bible-Believing Christian should reflect and make every effort count towards salvation. I know deep in me that I engage in gross gluttony during Christmas and eat myself into a food coma, then resolve over the new year to be a better person. Question is AM I A BETTER PERSON? Gluttony is wrong in every form... consuming excesses when others starve around the world... I know what I want to do this season... I want to get closer to God while making efforts at salvation, I want to reach out to others who are less well off than I am... I want to remember that getting and giving gifts is secondary if not tertiary to the main point of the season...
Any way RANT OVER :D

Stay Blessed x

I think GOD is real now, but What next?

Congrats on your new found belief, I am overjoyed that God has revealed himself to you! This new knowledge is wonderful and needs to be nurtured into a beautiful fountain of peace and joy that will be sustained by our Father in heaven through your growing faith in him.

From my experience, this point is a "toughie" as I remember not knowing what to feel or how to feel. But once I was able to find a fellowship to study the word of God with, I found myself moving from level 0 to previously unattained but  desired heights of peace and happiness, two things that I had felt starved of through the horrible trap of depression and low moods I had been caught in for years.

I grew to know that God, who I had denied and "hated" for years had many promises and plans for my life, promises that I was unaware of and as such couldn't bring to fruition. The beauty of the word of God - the Bible, is that it contains words pertaining to almost all of life's issues and worries. It is a beautiful Manual to Life and I myself have not fully taken advantage of all it provides.

The most important thing I believe the bible tells us all is  "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7) Isn't that in itself beautiful?

A valuable thing I believe we should all do is not just eat up everything that's fed to us in terms of the Word of God... Even the Bible teaches that we should confirm that the Bible contains what we've been told it contains Acts 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

It's vital also to read things in context. When one takes one line and reads it without at least reading a couple of lines before and after, misinterpretations are possible. I always find http://www.biblegateway.com very handy for checking numerous versions (English and other Languages). It aids understanding.

I believe that this very moment, you reading this blog has a purpose; God wants to use you to do great things for the World... No matter what you think of your life thus far, God has a way of taking the ordinary or down cast and turning it around and making it extra-ordinary and full of wonder.

I am a living testimony of his goodness, I went through years of gloom and doom and now when darkness threatens, I just quote God's promises and sing his praise and surely as he promised to do, he picks me up and hides me under his wings and keeps me safe from every depressive thought. Believe me life isn't necessarily smooth sailing but with God all things are possible.
